Construction Underway

Blandford Railway Arches

Nice to see Blandford Railway Arches on the front page of the local paper Forum Focus this month.

Work started last May to install drainage to protect the Langton Meadows flood arches and create a low key viewing platform out of the existing Historic structure.

The Somerset and Dorset Joint railway ran from Bath to Poole and closed in 1969. The arches are all that remain of the viaduct crossing the floodplain of the River Stour.

We look forward to seeing the completed project soon.

Thank you to Nicci Brown for the images.
