This family house responds to the features of the sloping site and respects the wider context of the conservation area whilst proposing an ecologically sustainable design that exceeds expectations of the modern family.
The concept was developed with the idea of making the Poplar beyond a focal point in the background. To do this, the building mass was split to enable views through the dwelling. This fractured mass also helps to diminish the appearance of mass and bulk, thus making the new dwelling appear smaller.
