New, traditional style farm house at Sparrowbush Farm, Thornicombe, Dorset.

Situated at the bottom of a small valley in an attractive area of open countryside (AONB), this house was designed with a large balcony to the upper floor to enhance the views which surround it. The applicants wanted a simple farmhouse that would be appropriate for its rural surroundings which was achieved both the design and material palette with the house.

The use of brick and flint with timber cladding under a slate roof achieved the traditional aesthetic exterior appearance the clients admired whilst the open plan interior layout and large opening glazed panels allowed the clients to make the most of the views from inside the house.
