This important, high profile corner site was occupied by a redundant former Hall & Woodhouse pub.
WDA were appointed by the brewery to redevelop the site and create 13 new homes, including 4 apartments, for sale on the open market.
Context is vital to the success of any project. As an area of distinctive character housing it was considered essential that the new homes be sympathetic to and of the period of the locality.
Inspired by classic garden suburb designs of the early 1900’s, Western Design produced houses and apartments in an Arts and Crafts style to match the surrounding neighbourhood.
By avoiding architectural fashion or pastiche and designing in a well researched authentic historic style we are able to prevent the houses from dating, so they will still look good 50 years from now.
