We take part in a number of activities to progress our knowledge of new technologies, materials and methods:
In House Seminars (CPDs)
Representatives from building suppliers, manufacturers and specialist consultancies give presentations or workshops to keep our staff well informed.
Tours
The team at Western Design regularly visit manufacturers, quarries and brickworks to learn more about materials and manufacturing processes.
PEDR’s
Both Part 1 and Part 2 students regularly engage in self-reflection through the form of Personal Educational Development Records.
Site Visits
Western Design staff visit site during the construction phase to improve their understanding of the building processes and site health and safety issues.
RIBA Dorset Branch
Staff are encouraged to take part in activities of the Dorset local branch. This ranges from lectures and seminars to local education events within the community.
