Planning Approval for 20 houses in Sixpenny Handley

WDA are delighted to have gained Full Planning Permission for 20 new bespoke dwellings in Sixpenny Handley.

Despite being an allocated site in the Local Plan, protracted negotiations were still held with the Dorset Council planning team which included a detailed Pre Application process in order to achieve this planning approval.

The site was seen as a natural infill at the edge of the Sixpenny Handley village, surrounded on three sides by existing residential development, contributing significantly to the much-needed local housing stock whilst integrating into and establishing itself as part of the existing village. The proposed mix consists of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom dwellings with varied heights and scale.

Materials were carefully selected to reference the local architectural character and features such as the use of brick and flint, quoins and chimneys. These were articulated in each of the elevations to establish a rhythm reminiscent of the street frontages throughout Sixpenny Handley.

Contributions were negotiated which included affordable housing, S106 and separate CIL contribution.
