IT and Marketing Co-ordinator – Temporary Role (Maternity Cover)

April 2015 – March 2016 – To Be Agreed

Western Design Architects are a multi-award winning practice located in rural Dorset.

We are looking for a creative, organised, confident and flexible individual with outstanding multi-tasking skills and excellent technical IT knowledge. The role largely covers two areas, IT & Marketing.  The applicant should have excellent grammatical skills with an ability to write in a descriptive manner. The ideal candidate should be experienced with Microsoft Office and Windows 7. A basic knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial. Adobe Photoshop and InDesign are both programmes that the successful candidate will use frequently and should therefore have an in-depth knowledge of. A design/Architectural background would be helpful but not vital.

Own transport essential.

Salary dependent on experience.

Typical tasks will include:

IT

Day to Day IT support for staff, printers, network and server. License renewal and upgrading and installing software. Responsible for checking daily backups are running. Ordering and Setting up and installation of the PC’s. Overseeing emails and calendars

Marketing / Media

Supporting in the production of client brochures and tender documents. Preparing text, images and press releases for media. Entering local and national awards. Reviewing the recently completed website and liaising with the website company checking for errors and problems. Editing, resizing and uploading new project images to website along with text. Adding content / news/ blogs to website. Overseeing social media campaign. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc. Promoting Western Design’s online presence and updating listings. Organising annual exhibition / design show, and preparing exhibition material. Preparation of adverts for online and printed press. Generally working alongside directors to raise the profile of the practice. Assisting with company newsletter

Other

Organising work experience dates and assisting with the duration of their stay. Preparing AutoCAD surveys and retrieving O/S maps ready for staff use. Working alongside the Principal Architect helping with day to day admin tasks and issues.

Website Assistant – Temporary Role

End of February for 2-3 months.

Organised, Methodical and conscientious individual required to process and upload a large volume of images and text for our new exciting website.

The applicant requires a very good knowledge of photoshop to allow for the efficient resizing, cropping and editing of images and should have a broad range of technical abilities and understanding of IT. Experience with a Content Manager would be beneficial.

Confidence to work without constant guidance is required.

The applicant should have excellent grammatical skills with an ability to write in a descriptive manner and rework existing text.

This role is ideally suited to an individual from a design / IT background.

Own transport is essential.
